NEOM is one of the hugest projects planned by the Kingdom to be implemented on the ground, aiming to dazzle the whole world with the magic and brilliance of this project. The name “NEOM” comes from two words: “Neo” from Greek, meaning “new”, and the letter “M” which stands for “future” in Arabic, thus meaning “The City of the Future”.

Saudi Arabia has launched several outstanding projects under its Vision 2030, one of the most prominent being the futuristic and charming city of NEOM . NEOM represents a Saudi Arabian leap toward new future horizons across various sectors including business, investment, housing, and environmental and social sustainability.

Charming And Futuristic NEOM City

The NEOM project cannot be described by the traditional definition and concept of the word city; it is rather the beginning of a transformation toward new future horizons for both the Kingdom and the Arab region. This transformation will involve much innovation and creativity across many sectors.

NEOM is located along the Red Sea coast in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, and encompasses 41 natural islands, covering an area equivalent to the size of Belgium. The location of NEOM is distinguished by being the coldest climate spot compared to all Gulf countries. This diverse landscape includes sandy beaches, rocky shores, colorful mountains, and snow-covered peaks in winter. The project plan aims to protect this unique natural and environmental.

NEOM  Projects

The Public Investment Fund (PIF) launched the NEOM city project in a strategically significant location in the Kingdom. The NEOM represents a new mindset and lifestyle, and a management model that is free from traditional views of designing, implementing, and operating residential and economic infrastructure.

NEOM city project is being led by a world-class leadership team from diverse fields of expertise, headed by the Public Investment Fund. Three main areas of development have been agreed upon for the city: the Sindalah area, the Line area, and the Oxagon area.

Sindalah Area

Sindalah Island is one of the Red Sea islands, as it is Neom’s first destination for luxury marine tourism and yacht clubs. It is also set to become a gateway for global tourism in the Red Sea region in the future due to its unique location and enchanting nature, making it a platform for high-end maritime tourism globally.

The Sindalah project is expected to create a renaissance in the tourism sector by providing 3,500 jobs in tourism, hospitality, and entertainment services. It will be offered  tourists exceptional experiences with luxury cruises and provide world-class tourist services, including high-standard hotel rooms and suites, a luxury beach club, and a yacht club, along with exceptional dining experiences at global restaurants on the island.

The Line Project

The Line project is a Saudi project to build a series of interconnected, AI-powered, carbon-free urban communities in Neom. The Line represents a revolution in urban life, placing humans at the top of its priorities by offering an unprecedented urban living experience while preserving the surrounding nature. The project will redefine the concept of urban development and set a new standard for cities of the future.

The focus of this project’s design is entirely on human beings, not technology. It will be a cognitive city that anticipates and reacts according to human needs, not the other way around. This pollution-free life will form a high-density cluster, creating a human experience full of new business opportunities. The city will be car-free, making it free from carbon emissions, powered entirely by 100% renewable energy. Additionally, 95% of the Neom area will be a protected natural space, untouched by development.

Oxagon Area

Oxagon is one of  Neom’s cities dedicated to innovating a new model of multi-purpose cities, where living and working are seamlessly integrated.

Oxagon will contribute to the rapid application of creative ideas by innovators and entrepreneurs, turning concepts into tangible realities capable of dominating global markets. It will provide all the necessary infrastructure and services, including an automated port, next-generation supply chain technologies, a thriving research and innovation ecosystem, programs to encourage advanced manufacturing industries, a global trade gateway, a clean energy-powered workspace, and a business environment based on advanced systems, which are far removed from traditional systems in use worldwide.
